The Spiritual Circle
What is it?: This is an experientially
based group, versus a book discussion. The focus will be on experience and
practice, using creative arts, meditation, and discussion as mediums. This is a
circle of learners and teachers, who covenant to seek spiritual/personal growth,
to encourage each other's growth, to share explorations, and to make some
together. We recognize that it is unlikely that any one person could adequately
guide all aspects of personal, spiritual growth or offers paths compatible with
differing learning styles. We will draw on the resources and practices of the
learner/teachers in the group.
Spiritual practice can benefit from the
support and encouragement a group can provide. A supportive community can
accelerate spiritual growth. Group interaction helps the learner avoid pitfalls
such as ignoring the shadow, breaking commitments, getting caught in an inflated
sense of progress, and robotically going through the motions.
When does it meet?: We meet on Wednesdays at 7pm.
Where do we meet?: Most Wednesdays we meet in the
Sanctuary. On the 1st Wednesday of each month, we meet in the Children's Chapel.
