The Green Team

Our Mission

To affirm and promote the 7th UU Principle:
Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.

In our effort to fulfill the 7th principle,

We recycle. 
As often as possible we create less trash by washing our dishes rather than using paper plates. 
We use cloth napkins donated by members  
We raise the thermostats in the sanctuary and ministers' hall and we keep outside doors closed to conserve energy.  We are researching more ways to save trees and energy.

Members of the Green Team show films, teach classes or plan other events. 
We are accumulating credits to become a “Green Sanctuary” Church

Requirements to earn  A Green Sanctuary  designation

Include completion of activities in 4 Focus Areas,

Religious Education,
Worship and Celebration,

Environmental Justice,
Sustainable Living

Every member of the First UU Congregation of the Palm Beaches is a member of the Green Team.
